ProWine China set for another astonishing edition in Shanghai

ProWine China 2019, the most anticipated wines and spirits trade show of the year in mainland China is just one and half away – before the most sought-after wines and spirits from around the world are showcased in Shanghai at SNICE (Shanghai New International Expo Centre) on 12 – 14 November 2019.

Strong exhibitor response to registration

ProWine China 2019 is set to make another tremendous edition in Shanghai, bringing a marvelous showcase of over 800 wines and spirits exhibitors from 35 countries and regions, with the exhibition space clearly structured between Hall W4 and Hall W5 based on winegrowing country and region. No other event in mainland China offers a comparable scale and scope. The largest exhibitor nations at ProWine China 2019 will be France and Italy, followed by Spain, Australia, Germany and Portugal, with full support from the government and associations of the countries. More than 1000 sqm exhibition space for French exhibitors this year reach a new high. For Germany the Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture (BMEL) has come together with the German Wine Institute (DWI) to announce the largest national investment ever seen at this fair. Austria (through Advantage Austria) and Portugal (through Wines of Portugal) are similarly expanding the footprint of their dedicated pavilions. Serbia and Bulgaria are among the newcomers to ProWine China, each with its own national stand.

Another notable highlight will be refining the wine-producing regions. France's Inter Beaujolais and Spain's D.O. Montsant will make its first appearance in ProWine China 2019 as regional pavilion, along with a few well-known regions from Italy, which includes Consorzio Vino Chianti Classico, Consorzio Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Consorzio Piemonte Land of Perfection, Enoteca Regionale Emilia Romagna, etc.  The number of Chinese exhibitors is rising as well. Numerous producers from China's native winegrowing regions will be represented this year at the UP-Chinese stand. A rich roster of individual exhibitors has also already signed up, including notable names such as Les Grands Chais de France (GCF), Champagne Taittinger, Ferrari-Bisol, Santa Margherita, Félix Solís avantis and COFCO Great Wall.

Top-notch education campaign for wines and spirits pros

ProWine China is as much about wine education as introducing the latest vintage. A top-class event program will be holding on all 3-days of the show, consists of specialized masterclasses and seminars by renowned industry experts, opinion leaders, trade organizations and associations, conducts directly at the exhibitors' stands or at the ProWine China Forum.

Prof. Li Demei will continue to preside over the industry forum at ProWine China 2019 under the theme of “The Role of Media on Wine Promotion – How wineries work effectively with media.” A series of masterclasses will be hosted by Fongyee Walker MW and Edward Ragg MW, co-founders of Dragon Phoenix Wine Consulting, along with their debut exhibit at ProWine China 2019. The world’s first and only Chinese Master Sommelier Mr. Lv Yang, as the founder of Grapea & Co., will bring numerous tastings and masterclasses at their stand.

Other highlights include wines, spirits and sake masterclasses by WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust), Japan Sake and Shochu Makers Association, and AWSEC (Asia Wine and Service Education Centre). Additionally, international masterclasses of wines will be offered by Wine Australia, Chianti Classico, GCF, Wines of Portugal, etc.
